What custom glass covers

Standard panels rarely fit a real opening. A front-door sidelight, a basement doorway, a wine room with a narrow run to the stairs: these are the jobs where the measurement matters more than the catalog. VG templates each piece to your actual opening, fabricates it in clear, low-iron, frosted, or reeded glass, and installs it so it sits flush and square.

  • Sidelight replacement. We swap the long, narrow glass beside your front door for clear, frosted, or reeded panels that match the look you want and the privacy you need, fitted to the existing frame.
  • Custom glass doors. Frameless and semi-frameless interior doors templated to the opening, including off-size doorways that fall outside any standard panel.
  • Wine-cellar and display enclosures. Tempered glass walls and doors that show the room without closing it off, sized to the run and the swing you have.
  • Glass options. Clear tempered for maximum light, low-iron for no green cast, frosted and reeded for privacy that keeps the light.
  • Hardware finishes. Matte black, polished chrome, brushed nickel, or brushed brass, chosen so the metal reads with the rest of the room.
  • Measure and install by one team. The crew that templates the opening is the crew that carries the glass in and sets it, including tight stairwells and narrow basement doors.

FAQ

Good questions to ask any glass shop.

Can you replace just the sidelight glass beside my front door?

Yes. Sidelight replacement is a regular job for us. We measure the existing opening, confirm the glass type and privacy level you want, and fit the new panel to the frame you already have.

My opening is not a standard size. Is that a problem?

No, that is most of what this page is about. We template to the actual opening rather than forcing a stock panel to fit, which is how we handle off-size doors, sidelights, and odd runs.

Can you get large glass into a tight basement or stairwell?

Yes. We have carried oversized custom doors and full-wall pieces down narrow basement doorways and set them safely. We plan the path before the glass is cut.

How do I get a price for a custom piece?

Call or text (630) 930-7846, or email glassinstallers@vgglass.co. We come measure the opening in person, talk through glass and hardware, and quote from real numbers rather than a guess over the phone.
